In 1999, Rachel R. Hayden, P.E. first began planning the process to establish Hayden Consultants, Inc. After one year of research and preparation of a business plan, a marketing plan and cash flow projections, Hayden Consultants was founded. Since its inception in March of 2000, Hayden Consultants has grown to become a well-respected engineering firm in the North Texas area and the state of Texas.

Rachel R. Hayden, P.E. is President of Hayden Consultants, Inc., which she founded as a sole proprietor in March of 2000. Hayden Consultants provides civil and transportation engineering services for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), TxDOT and municipalities.

Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1989 and spent the first three years of her career with Halff Associeates in the land development department. In 1992 she joined the roadway design team of PB/MK at the Superconducting Super Collider project, and has since focused her career on transportation engineering.

In 1996, Rachel joined MK Centennial, the transportation division of Morrison Knudsen Corporation (now known as Washington Group International). Her work at MK Centennial involved preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the City of Dallas, and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). One of her more notable projects at MK Centennial was the reconstruction and widening of Interstate 410 in San Antonio. Rachel was responsible for the complex geometric design of a separated ramp, retaining wall, and traffic control plans to accommodate traffic during construction of this congested freeway.

In 2001 Rachel was honored as the Young Engineer of the Year form the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE). She is an active member of TSPE, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
